Finesse Foreva Does Work Experience

finesse Foreva prides itself on being a record label with an ethos embedded on giving back to the community and more importantly the people in the community. 15 year olds Jermaine and Joe, both year 10 students, spent the last two weeks carrying out work experience at the Finesse Foreva headquarters in Croydon.

I was privileged to have a brief discussion with them both regarding their time there. For the pair, making music wasn’t something they wish to get into however they were curious about the ins and outs of the business side of managing artists, running a record label and gaining transferable life skills. Safe to say, they definitely were in the right place!

Jermaine, who is from Croydon, was able to sit in on official meetings, spend time in studio sessions and meet some of the biggest names in the industry including award winning artist, moelogo. for Jermaine, the most memorable part of this experience was going to BBC Radio with S1 to promote his new tape.

Joe, who is from Streatham, described the experience as “a fun and enjoyable all rounder” which gave him exposure to the different aspect of what goes on behind the scenes. His favourite part was attending meetings at Croydon Council with the team, something that showed him that the minority can make a difference!

Friday the 12th of July marked their last day with the FF family however we do wish them all the best with their future endeavours and I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of these two.

Finesse Foreva opens its doors and welcomes all who are interested in the work experience scheme with the company. For more information on how to get involved, please send all your enquiries to finesse@104forever.co.uk.
