Teeway's "5th chapter" and the meteoric rise to fame

After an amazing start to his rebranded career in 2019, with key highlights such as having a track on the top boy soundtrack, 2020 was looking like a massive year for South Norwood’s emerging star. The year started off by Teeway achieving his first million views in the “Year Of The Real'' collaboration with Meekz, M1llionz and Pa Salieu (now on 8 million views). This collaboration seemed to showcase the potential next stars in the UK rap scene and this judgement was spot on as all four artists went on to have breakthrough years and achieved so much in a very challenging year.

Teeway followed this track up by dropping what some would see as his best ever single and the drill track of the year with “Private Ryan”. In my opinion this started a potential great Producer-Artist combination as the chemistry which Teeway and Sebzbeats seem to have on a track is perfect. This link up then decided to strike again when Teeway was summoned for a Mad About Bars Freestyle. It was at this point where fans started to understand that there was something special in this artist. From his ability to consistently paint a picture with his pristine wordplay to his smooth cadence on tracks. It was evident that there is a potential UK great right in front of our eyes and he needed to drop some more music.

Teeway decided to provide for his fans as he released a highly anticipated project with features from ZeeTee, KO and V9.

The Norwood rapper has been on a successful run of song releases, showing off his immaculate flow and vivid storytelling so with fans craving more Teeway all over the TL, he finally decided to drop a 6 song EP displaying his versatility, from hard and gritty drill tunes to authentic storytelling tracks. 5th chapter is a masterpiece which has it all. From the clarity in the audio (mixed and mastered by capri shaq) to the artwork (by kiemadeit) it just tells a story in itself about all of the different trials and tribulations Teeway has had to face and how it is all a part of his story.

Debatably the best song on the album, "Cutlery" has Teeway reliving the grimy hardships that street life brings. Produced by Sebzbeats, he raps over a raw rap instrumental and paints a story about his past - from carrying bags of cash, being betrayed, having trust issues with women or working on his grind Teeway managed to draw in the listeners in this single and really conveyed life in the streets of South Norwood. With countless stories and unique wordplay Teeway is a breath of fresh air in the UK scene. His flow and delivery are unmatched and further prove he's levels above the rest of the game.

The future looks bright for the South London rapper, his growth is the most exciting and he is most definitely one to watch out for in 2021, and with a mixtape coming this year or next it is fair to say that the rise to the top for Teeway has only just begun.

Make sure to keep streaming "5th chapter" out now on all platforms and watch out for what Teeway has to come in 2021.
