All week, fans were talking on twitter and on the comments section of previous collaboration with m24 and stickz entitled "Crash x gbg" about a snippet of AM switching the dark and greazy rap to some wavey melodies.
This song really marks the beginning of a new sound - "Drill R'N'B" and this is executed very well as AM starts the tune with the same wavey, melodic vibe that he came with on his hit solo "flex till the morning". This not only shows the ability of the duo, but it also shows how the brixton rappers have progressed and grown as artists, coping with all of the obstacles that has come during their journey.
Am starts his verse by painting a picture about his character, as if he is telling a story. This story is shown in the visuals from kevin hudson as you see a younger going through trials and tribulations after being sent to do a job by AM.
Skengdo then comes in with a more relaxed flow talking from experience about how he used to be out trying to hustle for money. This is before AM comes in for a short bridge with some slick wordplay; again, painting an image to describe what is going on in the acting scenes as you seethe worker going to extreme measures to put things right.
After another chorus, skengdo comes in for another verse delievering similar vibes to the one before and he also reminisces and shouts out fellow 410 member jayslapit, expressing the pain of his absence.
AM does the same, remembering the problems that he faced when younger and he looks back on how him and skengdo came up from two youngers in cowley estate to performing at shows. this sets up the catchy hook one more time and rounds up another amazing tune from the duo.
